It all started at eleven years old, when the two hundredth Caucasion lady leaned over the back of the church pew and said, “young man, you sound just like Neil Diamond”. Unbeknownst to me, it was at that moment the Black Diamond show was born!

I figured since so many people kept comparing my vocal talent to him. I had better find out who this cat was! My first step toward discovering the legendary icon Neil Diamond was to purchase a copy of the infamous album "The Jazz Singer" which I still count among my favorites today! The track I immediately fell in love with was "Songs of Life." Wow, what a beautiful ballad with mesmerizing lyrics! Of course, nobody could resist the album's other gems such as "Love on the Rocks," "Hello Again" and Mr. Diamond's quintessential signature tune, "America."

I truly realized the magnitude of being compared to the master showman with inimitable vocal styling after seeing Neil Diamond in concert at the Charleston, West Virginia, Civic Center in 1998. I must say that I have loved doing the show ever since.
